Specimen #8RC6D2M0NT — Verum confirmatum — submitted 1×Oct 03, 2026

Verum confirmatumlow confidence

A web link submits a Guardian news article whose headline argues that Elon Musk's DOGE team dramatically disrupted US federal government operations in Washington.

Evidence indicates a Guardian page with this exact headline likely exists: the Guardian's own oEmbed endpoint resolves the submitted URL to the precise title under the 'Trump administration' section. However, the article body was never acquired, the October 3, 2026 date is inferred only from the URL slug, and the claims about Musk's DOGE team received no direct citation support in this run, so overall confidence is low.

Specimen incognitummedium confidence

A web link to a Hebrew-language Ynet news article whose headline reports that, according to reports in Gaza, the IDF attempted to eliminate the 'successor of Sinwar.'

The submission is a bare link to a genuine Ynet article, but only its headline could be retrieved; the article body and any independent corroboration of the reported IDF attempt on 'Sinwar's successor' are unavailable. Evidence indicates the article exists on a reputable outlet, but whether it accurately reports the underlying events cannot be determined from the available record.

Specimen incognitumlow confidence

An Instagram fitness reel by calisthenics creator BRAWNX argues that looping a resistance band under the feet during a dead hang lets you hold longer, that continuous breathing gives you the strength to maintain the hold, and that this progression can build grip-strength hang duration to one minute.

The reel's core technique — band-assisted dead hangs as a regression to build grip endurance — is consistent with standard progressive-overload coaching practice and is likely reasonable general guidance. However, all automated research passes returned zero validated sources, the breathing claim is causally overstated as phrased, and the specific one-minute outcome is an uncited creator heuristic; the claims therefore remain unverified in this pass rather than confirmed or refuted.

Specimen incognitumlow confidence

An Instagram news-commentary reel by PEEK TV argues that the Indian government and NTA are contradicting their own earlier statements by now downplaying the NEET-UG exam compromise as merely 'some questions going out' rather than a full leak, framing this as an attempt to evade accountability.

The reel's core factual claims are plausible against the backdrop of the NEET-UG controversy, but no independent source could be retrieved to confirm any of them; all three agenda claims rest solely on unfetched screengrabs shown inside the reel itself. Evidence indicates the verdict must remain unverifiable at low confidence pending successful retrieval of the cited Business Today, Indian Express, and CBI-related reporting.

Specimen #BHHD9G0S5X — Falsum virale — submitted 1×Jul 23, 2026

Falsum viralelow confidence

Instagram reel styled as a CNN-News18 'Brass Tacks' news segment argues that actor Thalapathy Vijay is now the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu and that his final film 'Jana Nayagan' will release worldwide on July 23, 2026 across 7,000-8,000 screens after a six-month CBFC blockade that ended in court.

Evidence indicates the reel's central present-tense claim — that Thalapathy Vijay is the sitting Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu — is false; public record identifies him as an actor and founder-leader of Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam, with M. K. Stalin holding the CM office and the next assembly election not due until 2026. The accompanying claims about a July 23, 2026 release across 7,000-8,000 screens and a six-month CBFC block resolved via court could not be corroborated by any validated source and contain internal chronological contradictions. Because the research cycle returned zero fetched citations, overall confidence is low and human review is recommended.

Specimen #ENL8UN38GZ — Incertum specimen — submitted 1×Jul 23, 2026

Specimen incognitummedium confidence

An Instagram reel from kumar.r_official argues that the author (Dr. R. Kumar) attended the 'Vetri Thamizhagam – Innovation Roundtable' at Taj Connemara, Chennai, where he discussed Tamil Nadu's innovation, AI, and tech development with industry leaders.

The attendance and event-topic claims are plausible and internally consistent with the reel's visuals, but they rest entirely on the claimant's own self-published post. No independent source — government, institutional, or press — could be found to corroborate the event, its venue, date, or participants, so the claims remain unverifiable.

Specimen #6P2X3J6WWR — Fallax contextus — submitted 1×Jul 23, 2026

An Instagram reel by creator Vinay Kesavarapu (investwvinay) argues that a Claude AI prompt can simulate institutional-grade stock analysis from firms like Goldman Sachs and BlackRock and deliver 40-50% swing-trading gains, asking viewers to comment 'INSTITUTION' to receive it.

Evidence indicates this reel is misleading financial promotion: the headline promise of 40-50% gains from an AI prompt has no verifiable basis, and the 'proof' consists of unverifiable portfolio screenshots and mocked-up outputs dressed in borrowed institutional branding. The one fully accurate element — that the prompt instructs Claude to role-play a senior Goldman Sachs/BlackRock-style analyst — is deployed to lend unearned credibility to an unrealistic return promise from a creator who self-identifies as not SEBI-registered.

Specimen #68KXS2DYP5 — Incertum specimen — submitted 1×Jul 23, 2026

Specimen incognitumlow confidence

An Instagram reel — a static three-photo collage from the aggregator account 'Update Machi' — argues that Tamil Nadu police chaotically arrested SFI and DYFI students at a Chennai protest over NEET and Delhi police action, and that Tamil news channels are deliberately not covering it.

Evidence indicates none of the reel's three claims can currently be corroborated: research found no news reports, police statements, or image-provenance data confirming the alleged Chennai arrests, and the media-blackout assertion is an unfalsifiable negative presented without any coverage audit. The scenario is plausible given SFI/DYFI's active protest history in Tamil Nadu, but the outrage-framed aggregator packaging and unverified photo provenance mean the claims remain unverifiable at this time.

Specimen #8KCM04YF6S — Verum confirmatum — submitted 1×Jul 23, 2026

Verum confirmatumlow confidence

An Instagram reel using 3D animation argues that Venice was built by driving thousands of wooden piles into the lagoon floor, topped with wooden platforms and stone, and that the submerged timber has survived for centuries because oxygen-poor water prevents wood-decaying organisms.

Evidence indicates both claims are likely true in their essentials: Venice's foundations do rest on dense fields of wooden piles topped by wooden platforms and stone, and anoxic submersion is the standard explanation for the timber's survival. However, the reel simplifies the engineering (piles work largely by friction and sediment compaction rather than bearing on hard 'stable layers') and overstates preservation (anaerobic bacteria still slowly degrade the wood). Because automated research retrieved no external sources, this verdict rests on domain consensus and carries low confidence.

Specimen #CQA6CPGFZ5 — Artificialis imago — submitted 1×Jul 23, 2026

Imago artificialismedium confidence

An Instagram image meme, self-labeled 'STRICTLY FOR MEMEZ,' depicts a Mahatma Gandhi-lookalike standing in a modern protest crowd with a gaming-slang joke overlay, paired with an unrelated caption narrating Royal Challengers Bengaluru's fictional IPL 2026 season.

Evidence indicates this is likely AI-generated or heavily composited meme content: the scene is historically impossible (Gandhi died in 1948), the image shows described synthesis artifacts, and the post is explicitly self-labeled as a meme. No validated external evidence supports any Gandhi-lookalike appearing at a real protest, and the IPL 2026 caption is predictive fiction that cannot be verified.

Specimen #SCSU37R29N — Fallax contextus — submitted 1×Jul 23, 2026

Fallax contextusmedium confidence

An Instagram reel argues that a 'TVK government' in Tamil Nadu forcefully arrested and beat protesting SFI students at the behest of the RSS, pairing street-confrontation footage with a Modi–Vijay–Amit Shah montage.

The reel's load-bearing premise is false: TVK (Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam), actor Vijay's party founded in 2024, is not and has never been the governing party of Tamil Nadu, which the DMK has governed since 2021, so it cannot have 'ordered' police action. The underlying footage appears to be genuine handheld video of a real police–protester confrontation, but its date, location, and involvement of SFI students are unverified; the reel likely repurposes real footage under a false political attribution, making the package misleading rather than wholly fabricated.

The Instagram reel describes fresh clashes near Jantar Mantar involving RAF personnel and protesters, with videos showing chaotic scenes and individuals carrying swords, and mentions police registering FIRs.

The reel contains mostly accurate information about clashes near Jantar Mantar and police responses, but presents misleading details about timing and specific claims regarding sword attacks on RAF personnel at midnight.

Fallax contextusmedium confidence

The Instagram reel reports that Tamil rapper Arivu was detained by Chennai police during a protest against NEET and later clarified he did not meet the Chief Minister despite receiving invitations.

The reel accurately reports Arivu's detention and his clarification about not meeting the Chief Minister, but misleadingly identifies the Chief Minister as 'Vijay' when evidence indicates this refers to C. Joseph Vijay, creating confusion about Tamil Nadu's political leadership.

Verum confirmatumhigh confidence

An Instagram image post claims that Tamil Nadu police arrested Madurai SFI students for protesting in support of Delhi students.

Evidence indicates the claim is accurate. Multiple news sources confirm that SFI students were arrested in Tamil Nadu, including Madurai, for protests related to NEET exam controversy and in solidarity with Delhi students.

An Instagram reel shows police officers interacting with a crowd with one officer appearing to shout, captioned as depicting police hasty actions against students.

The reel shows police-crowd interaction but lacks sufficient context to verify claims about police taking hasty actions against students specifically. The identity of individuals as students and nature of police actions cannot be confirmed from available evidence.

An Instagram reel shows a man speaking to a crowd at night, urging them not to order food and to bring liquids instead, stating that food will go to waste, with on-screen text indicating the date as '21st July'.

The video contains normative and predictive claims that cannot be fact-checked for truthfulness. While the July 21st date aligns with documented protests in Delhi, the specific advice about food ordering lacks verifiable context or evidence.
